Hair Care
Hello Doll!
Having a good hair care regimen with realistic expectations is extremely important if you want your hair to last several years.
Keep in mind that you purchased RAW human hair. This means that it will work in the same way that your natural hair would! It was created from a human scalp and must be treated as such. Please keep in mind that RAW human hair, especially higher-maintenance textures, should be approached with caution. You will most likely be dissatisfied if your extensions are not properly cared for.
WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER OPENING YOUR PACKAGE
STRAIGHT/WAVY TEXTURES
There will be a floral fragrance. This is due to our CoWash before shipment. You may also notice short hairs called "beards" around the weft or on the wigs, which are completely normal.
You may notice a few loose hairs during your initial brush out and CoWash as a result of the wefting process. This is normal and should go away after the first few washes. While following a routine haircare regimen, we anticipate that you will have minimal shedding each day. Please keep in mind that RAW hair improves over time – it requires love!
WEEKLY CARE
Wash with conditioner only (CoWash) 2-3 times a week. This helps to ensure that your hair retains moisture and periodically removes any build-up that could be causing stickiness or tangles. If your extensions require deep conditioning, we recommend using a thick deep conditioner containing emollient properties to minimize unwanted frizz.
DAILY CARE
- Brush or comb through to style.
- Apply an alcohol-free glossing polish or hair serum for shine and frizz control as needed. Excessive product may lead to stiff hair which may cause matting and tangling. When product has build-up, it is time for a CoWash!
- Always use heat protectant when heat styling to avoid damage. Keep in mind, excessive heat styling can alter the original wave pattern and integrity of the hair (similar to your natural hair).
- Before bed, put hair into a high ponytail or roll into a bun to enhance wave pattern.
- Apply satin scarf or bonnet to reduce frizz and fly-aways.
- For bouncy waves, style with flexi-rods.
- After waking up, remove overnight protection and comb through using Hair Brush beginning at the ends and working your way up. Style as needed.
GQLUXE CURLY TEXTURES
Our curly textures require a more extensive haircare regimen. When purchasing curly hair it is important to have a realistic expectation of the maintenance that goes into having beautiful curls. Unlike “beauty supply” hair or many virgin curly hair options that may remain in the same curl without manipulation, You must understand and treat this hair like yours and maintain accordingly.
Note that if the curly hair is deficient in water, it will swell due to moisture. Curly hair is more porous than a straight texture, so it tends to draw moisture from the air which swells the hair. When the hair swells and the cuticle becomes rough, the curl pattern of the hair is lost and it can be visually unattractive. This also leads to tangling and matting as the strands rub against each other. Therefore, it is important to follow a routine care regimen with curly hair to help combat these problem
WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU OPEN YOUR PACKAGE
Your curly hair has been in transit and may need to be revived and restored to its true beauty. Please refrain from running your fingers through your curly hair while in a dry state. This may cause tangling and excess frizz.
Due to the initial wefting process from bundle/wig construction, You may notice a few loose hairs during your initial brush out and CoWash as a result of the wefting process. This is normal and should go away after the first few washes. While following a routine haircare regimen, we anticipate that you will have minimal shedding each day. Please be aware that there is a significant difference between shedding and breakage.

BEDTIME CARE/DAILY CARE
Before going to bed, put hair up in a high ponytail or braid into large sections and wear a satin scarf or bonnet. This will help to maintain the curl pattern and reduce frizz while sleeping.
Once you are ready to style your hair for the day remove your ponytail or braids and spray hair with water and conditioner mix to activate leave-in product. Section hair and brush from tips working your way up to the roots. Scrunch gently and allow to air dry. Avoid manipulation as this may cause excess frizz.
